What better way to celebrate a rainy Monday than posting a favorite song about rainbows! This is an adapted version of the old English nursery rhyme “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring”, and can address academic and self-regulation goals. The picture above is the visual I use for my early childhood groups. Each color of the rainbow velcros to the one behind it so they are easy to attach. As the group sings through each verse, have the student with that color add it to the rainbow. To the tune, the lyrics are as follows:
It’s raining, It’s pouring
The old man is snoring,
After the rain, comes the rainbow
First, the color is red
After each verse, have the student with that color attach it to the rainbow. Here is what each piece looks like pulled apart. Looking forward to rainbows and sun soon!
