It’s the time of year in the upper midwest when the leaves are turning the most gorgeous shades of red, orange, and yellow. We love singing about fall at Toneworks and want to share one of the most simple but fun movements songs to use for individual and group music therapy or in your classroom.
You can use this song to meet goals of imitating gross motor movements, expressive language, sequencing, and decision making. You can make up additional verses with actions that meet individualized goals easily as well!
Tune of London Bridge:
Leaves are falling to the ground, to the ground, to the ground (wave scarf up and down)
Leaves are falling to the ground, it is fall, BRRR! (shiver and rub arms)
Sweep them up so we can play, we can play, we can play (sweep the floor)
Sweep them up so we can play, it is fall, BRRR! (shiver and rub arms)
Rake them up so we can jump, we can jump, we can jump (pool scarf on floor and jump on it)
Rake them up so we can jump, it is fall, BRRR!
Crunch the leaves, crunch, crunch, crunch….(squish scarf between both hands)
Crunch the leaves, crunch, crunch, crunch, it is fall, BRRR!
Cover up and stay so warm, stay so warm, stay so warm (put scarf on lap or shoulders like a blanket)
Cover up and stay so warm, it is fall, BRRR!
Have a fantastic time moving to this tune!
