Today’s Timeless Tunesday features our top 5 singable books that are spring themed! All of the books are easily sung with classics like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Row Row Row Your Boat. The ranking of these books is based off the level of love from our ECSE classrooms this spring! Click on the title of each song for a link to purchase the book.

5) Raindrop Plop– This book is great for addressing academic skills like counting or answering “wh”                                         questions. You can use a variety of melodies, but my favorite is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

4) Tap The Magic Tree This book uses different fine and gross motor skills to “help” a tree go through the seasons of the year. It’s fun for kids to tap, rub, and blow on the tree to help it grow buds, stay warm in the winter, and drop apples to the ground. I use the melody of Mary Had a Little Lamb to sing the book.

3) Over in the Meadow– This book has some of the most amazing illustrations of wildlife that I’ve ever seen. On each page, students can count the number of baby animals that are with their mom. The mom gives them a direction, such as the birds singing, the beavers building, or the owls winking, and the kids follow that direction as well. I use the melody for Little Goblins 10, but it also works with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

4) 10 Little Ladybugs Another book that is perfect for counting! The textured ladybugs are enticing to help kids counting. It’s also great for answering questions about the different animals that find the ladybugs on each page. I use the melody for Row Row Row Your Boat.

5) There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Frog- This book was by far the most popular this spring. Who doesn’t like an old lady that swallows frogs, gloves, and a rake before burping up a garden! A twist on the classic book, There Was an Old Lady That Swallowed a Fly!
