It is officially winter in Minnesota, and long gone are the sunny and water-filled days of summer.  Though looking at snow from inside your cozy room may be peaceful, driving and walking in this mess is no easy task.  When traffic is bad and your shoes are soaking, it can be hard to stay calm and relaxed.  This Friday, I have compiled a list of my favorite songs to use for relaxation with both my clients and in my personal life.  These songs are fairly simple to play on the guitar, and sometimes I like to hum or sing the melody on “oo” so that the words don’t become too distracting.  This is by no means a comprehensive list, but I find that these songs always bring me a sense of peace during stressful times.

1. “Blowing in the Wind”-Peter, Paul and Mary cover

2. “Love Me Tender”-Elvis Presley

3. “The Call”– Regina Spektor

4. “Make You Feel My Love”-Adele cover

5. “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”-Bobby McFerrin
