Although it is pouring rain today, we had a BEAUTIFUL Father’s Day weekend, full of mosquitos, family, and lots of “fun” bugs. As a nod to our butterfly friends, we wanted to share an intervention that uses lots of colorful scarves, works on improving gross motor skills, and provides opportunities that foster peer interaction.
Set to the tune of “Lightly Row”
Butterfly, butterfly, flutter flutter in the sky
Butter fly, butterfly, flutter flutter in the sky
Flutter flutter way down low, flutter flutter way up high,
Butterfly, butterfly, flutter flutter in the sky
During each verse, choose different directions for moving the scarves, or have students choose. The words don’t necessarily have to rhyme!
